With a strategic focus on implementing key initiatives for the 2024-2025 period, ME Elecmetal is concluding the first year of its sustainability management cycle. As the company moves into 2025, it is laying the groundwork to fully integrate sustainable practices that align with its long-term commitments through 2030. This action plan reinforces ME Elecmetal’s dedication to its sustainability pillars, emphasizing environmental stewardship, responsible supply chain management, and social investment.

Throughout 2024, the company prioritized the establishment of continuous monitoring systems for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indicators, ensuring periodic reporting to customers. ME Elecmetal Expands Its Sustainability Plan in 2025

In 2025, ME Elecmetal will continue advancing its sustainability strategy with a broader, more integrated approach, focusing on three key areas: supply chain management, community relations, and environmental goals.

  • Strengthening the Supply Chain
A key priority will be the categorization of suppliers to enhance management efficiency both locally and internationally. In collaboration with the sustainability committee of the Elecmetal Group—which includes Cristalerías Chile and Santa Rita—ME Elecmetal is working to define supplier categories such as critical, strategic, local, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). This classification will improve supplier relationships and ensure a more sustainable and responsible supply chain.
  • Deepening Community Engagement
ME Elecmetal is dedicated to strengthening its relationships with communities near its production plants in Rancagua, Tempe, Duluth, and Changzhou. As part of this effort, the company will conduct impact assessments to evaluate both positive and negative effects, develop mitigation plans, and implement value-adding initiatives.
    Key actions include:

    • Defining areas of influence.
    • Establishing mitigation controls.
    • Mapping key stakeholders in each region.

Additionally, ME Elecmetal is reviewing its past social investments to ensure they generate meaningful, long-term social transformation. By aligning these investments with the company’s core values and capabilities, ME Elecmetal aims to create a lasting, positive impact on the communities it serves.

  • Advancing Environmental Goals and Transparency

The 2025 sustainability plan includes clear objectives for decarbonization and the traceability of metallic raw materials, with a target of full implementation by 2030 across the company’s facilities. ME Elecmetal will also enhance its reporting efforts, including:

    • Corporate sustainability presentations to customers.
    • Semiannual sustainability reports.
    • Dual materiality analysis.
    • Preparation of an integrated annual report.

By reinforcing these commitments, ME Elecmetal continues to align its operations with global sustainability standards, creating long-term value for its customers, suppliers, and communities.
