Beyond Our Talents: Sally Yu, Senior Specialist, Supply Chain Team, ME Elecmetal China — Building Connections that Create Value

Can you introduce yourself and your role in the company?

My name is Sally Yu, and I’m part of the Supply Chain team at ME Elecmetal China. I have worked as a Senior Specialist for more than five years, developing a strong understanding of procurement processes by combining my technical background with operational management experience.

I was born in Yantai, a beautiful coastal city in China. At age 18, I left my hometown to continue my studies in Beijing, where I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from the Beijing University of Technology and Business.

At the start of my professional career, I spent five years working in mechanical design, project development and material calculations. I later shifted my focus to procurement, specializing in the acquisition of mechanical parts. That transition marked the beginning of my journey in supply chain.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling. Whether it is a short trip or a longer journey, I love connecting with nature, exploring new cities and spending time with family and friends. China is a very diverse country, both geographically and culturally. With 56 ethnic groups, it has a richness I am proud of, and I hope more people have the opportunity to discover and experience it someday.

What attracted you to ME Elecmetal?

One of the most significant aspects of ME Elecmetal is its commitment to human dignity. I deeply identify with a corporate culture that puts people first. ME Elecmetal has been established in its industry for more than a century, and that principle has remained a foundation of its growth.

How would you describe the culture at ME Elecmetal?

Our company was recognized as a Great Place to Work, which reflects its strong commitment to people. I would also highlight the company’s sense of social responsibility and integrity. These values make ME Elecmetal a trustworthy place where employees can develop professionally and continue to grow.

What benefits do you value the most about working here?

I value the positive work environment and strong communication across our team. Whether we are managing day-to-day responsibilities or facing new challenges, our team works together effectively to find solutions. That collaboration gives us the confidence to take on new projects and deliver results.

Can you share a personal story about teamwork or achievement?

One project that stands out involved a North American customer and required close collaboration between our team and one of our key suppliers. Our director, Van Wang, recently shared a video and photos from the project with everyone involved, recognizing the hard work and dedication that went into completing it.

The project was finalized in late 2025 and received excellent feedback from the client. From design and production to delivery, our team and suppliers worked together to ensure quality, meet deadlines and fulfill the customer’s expectations.

It was a demanding project, but seeing the results—and receiving that recognition—gave us a strong sense of accomplishment.

How does your team help solve challenges in the mining industry?

Our department serves as a key hub for coordination and collaboration. Based on our customers’ needs, we identify and select the most suitable suppliers in China to ensure the supply of high-quality products.

Over the past five years, our scope has evolved significantly. What began as a service focused on cast parts for crushers and composite liners has expanded to include manganese steel parts, composite liners, fasteners, spare parts, equipment and maintenance repair, and operations products and services, among others.

What excites you the most about the future of ME Elecmetal?

Over the past five years, the total business volume of our subsidiary has grown from 4,000 tons to a projected 20,000 tons in 2025, representing significant and encouraging progress.

At the same time, the establishment of ME Elecmetal’s trading company in 2025 opens new opportunities for us to expand our reach, strengthen our market presence, and continue creating value for our customers.
