Can you introduce yourself and your role in the company?
My name is Batzaya Batochir, though most people call me Zaya—meaning “destiny” in Mongolian. I was born in Kiev, Ukraine, where my parents studied at university, but my roots and identity are firmly Mongolian. I come from culture rich with nomadic traditions, and the enduring legacy of Chinggis Khaan—where you’ll also find the world’s coldest capital, Ulaanbaatar.
I am married with a son and a daughter. As a family, we volunteer at a local pet shelter, and my son leads a school club called “Paw Protectors,” which promotes animal rights—a relatively new cause in Mongolia. I also dedicate time to the Veloo Foundation, supporting early education for vulnerable children. Outside of work and volunteering, I enjoy traveling and am passionate about CrossFit. I train three to four times a week and hold international certification as a judge.
I hold a degree in Finance from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago and an MBA from the Mongolian University of Finance and Economics. Fluent in Mongolian, Russian, and English, I’ve had the opportunity to work in diverse, multicultural environments—bridging cultures and regions. Currently, I serve as Sales and Marketing Administration Manager at ME Elecmetal Mongolia. My role is dynamic and multifaceted: I oversee daily office operations, manage translations, support sales activities across the EMEA region, and handle local administrative responsibilities.

What I value most about ME Elecmetal is its cultural diversity and strong ethical foundation. I especially enjoy participating in our Annual Sales Conferences, where I have the opportunity to meet colleagues from around the world. It’s a great way to overcome the sense of isolation that can sometimes come with working in an office as remote as ours.
Even though I work in a male-dominated environment, it’s refreshingly drama-free—and honestly, I like it that way!

We’ve encountered challenges when entering markets with diverse cultural backgrounds—ranging from language barriers and cultural differences to political tensions, corruption, currency fluctuations, logistics, and communication issues.
How does your team help solve challenges in the mining industry?
Our team excels at market development, building strong, long-term relationships with customers, and providing dedicated support across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Ukraine, and Mongolia. The durability and reliability of our products enable customers to reduce costs, minimize downtime, and improve overall operational efficiency.
