Helping our Customers to Reuse Materials and Reduce Landfills and/or Waste Disposal Management Costs

In today’s business landscape, customers frequently engage a third party within the supply chain to handle waste management and disposal, or they allow it to accumulate within their on-site scrap yards.

ME Elecmetal’s circular economy plan, initiated in 2022, encompasses three primary objectives:

  1. Maximize Product Recovery: The foremost goal is to optimize the recovery of various products.
  2. Implement the ME PolyFIT® Rubber Recovery Plant: This innovative solution is a standout in the market, enabling the separation of steel from rubber. It is projected that this plant will make it feasible to recycle approximately 2,000 tons* of rubber annually.
  3. Scrap Separation Plant: Currently in a testing phase, this plant, situated in central Chile, distinguishes between magnetite (ore) and the grinding balls discarded during the milling process. It is anticipated that this plant will soon be deployed to our customers’ mining sites. The estimated volume of waste available for recirculation is substantial, potentially reaching 80,000 tons* per year, with the possibility of sale to steel suppliers.

*Please note that the estimated tonnage for recirculation in both cases depends on the specific plant configuration and production capacity.
