Close Side Setting Measurement (C-GAP)

The C-GAP, provided by ME Elecmetal’s Digital Solutions, is an electronic device designed for the safe, quick, and accurate measurement of the Closed Side Setting (CSS) in crushers. It eliminates the need for traditional, hazardous lead-based measurements, offering a cleaner, more efficient alternative

  • RCM Certification ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Measurable Range: Minimum measurable setting of 6 mm and a maximum of 220 mm.
  • Operational Distance: The sensor can measure at a distance between 3 m and 30 m from the CSS zone.
  • Durability: The device has a typical lifespan of one to two years and comes with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
  • Power Source: Operates on four AA alkaline batteries (max 4×1.5 VDC).
  • German-Made: Ensures high-quality, durable construction.

Operation

  • The C-GAP sensor is placed in the crusher, and when compressed, it measures the increase in air pressure inside the system.
  • This pressure is transmitted through a hose to a handheld device, which converts the pressure reading into a linear CSS measurement in millimeters.
  • This method provides an accurate reading of the minimum crusher opening (CSS) without exposing personnel to hazardous environments.
  • This system is a practical and safer alternative to traditional CSS measurement methods, enhancing both operational efficiency and worker safety.
